Many of you know that the electoral process is one of my pet projects. I want to ensure that all eligible Americans are properly registered and would love to see more than 54% turnout to vote.

So why do citizens not vote? According to this survey, 23% of unregistered and 28% of infrequent voters are just too busy. (http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/thepoliticalsystem/a/whynotvote.htm). I cannot imagine any excuse for not being part of this process. To have my say in what the policies and direction my county, my state and my country go is more important than any previous engagement.

Voting has become so easy and convenient with early voting and absentee ballots, there should be no excuse. GOTV or Get Out The Vote, is a job that all of us can do to get more people to the polls. To get out the vote, join up with a group, or encourage your group to make a plan. This is everything from phoning or door knocking to remind people when voting starts when it ends. Finding out if they need a ride to the polls and providing rides to people who need it, or providing information on bus schedules or even Taxi numbers. It is all about providing solutions to get everyone to the polls.

In order to be really successful YOU must be informed, if you are calling voters to encourage them to get out and vote, you must be prepared to answer any questions or provide resources for the answer. In addition to providing rides, a voter may need to know where to vote. They may be intimidated by the process and scared they won’t know how to vote. You can let them know, the process is clearly posted, and there are people that will walk them through the process. They may need to know if they are eligible, you should be able to provide information on phone numbers of the Election Commission, or inform the voter of the provisional ballot process. You must know the Voting Schedule, which can be acquired from your local Election Commission. GOTV is a great way to introduce your County Party, Tea Party or other groups to potential members, when you call on voters, identify your group and let them know you are providing this service as part of your group’s commitment to the process. If there is someone that is interested in finding out more about your group, it is a great opportunity to give out information.

Vote! Every American should use their God given freedoms and take part in this process. This is your voice in what happens in our Communities and our Country. If you don’t vote, don’t complain! If you don’t raise your voice before the issue, you can’t say anything about what happens, by not voting you have given your voice to someone who does vote!

Get involved in the process, learn to hold voter registration drives, GOTV and sign up to be a poll worker or watcher with the local County Election Commission.

I have been holding Voter Registration drives across Tennessee and have given seminars on Voter Registration and Voter Fraud, I now am going to be certified as a trainer and will be doing more training through Smart Girl Politics and partner organizations. I use my registration tables to educate voters on important issues and give them resources to become educated voters. Getting our Country back

I was doing nothing much this Sunday Afternoon, trying to lower the amount of emails in my inbox and read a few articles in websites to which I subscribe. As I did this’ it took me on a journey through the internet where I frequently find myself led down various roads by googling people I don’t know, or checking out facts on those I do.

I came across an article in the Canada Free Press about BHO and his attorney general Eric Holder. Always fascinated (and scared) by what these 2 are up to, I started reading about several American Military Officers that are standing up to this administration. They are asking for answers regarding not only his birth (ONCE AND FOR ALL, JUST SHOW THE RECORDS!); but the fact that among the administrations anti-American policies are his takeover of American Companies, and the wholly unconstitutional policies and laws that are being passed by those bent on socialism – not caring a hoot that we are GUARANTEED a Republican form of Government by our Constitution! What sucked me in deeper was a mention of Major General Paul Vallely. I knew this name from the Fox News Channel and I wanted to see what exactly, he was up to and how he felt about BHO and what was happening in America. What I saw resonated in my heart:

“Being a representative republic, not a democracy, “rising up” means something other than revolution by means of arms. The people must “rise up” from the grass roots across this great country as we think of the greater good of this and future generations. We are limited in the peaceful transfer of power…resignation, natural death, elections, and impeachment.

“We the People” have had enough. The Obama Administration and identifiable Members of Congress are now on a death march and are bankrupting and weakening the country. We have watched them violate their sacred oath of office.”

“We, the People” cannot wait for and solely rely on the next round of elections in November of this year. It is now and each day that these public servants must put the citizen’s interests above self-interest by resigning immediately. Therefore the “people” must decide. A civil uprising is brewing. We now must call for the immediate resignation of Barry Soetero (AKA President Barack Hussein Obama)...based on Incompetence, Deceit, Fraud, Corruption, Dishonesty, and Violation of the US Oath of Office and the Constitution.

Wow what do you think? So on I read, about a group that he was involved with called STAND UP AMERICA! As the author of the article, JB Williams said, “This is as serious as it gets folks!” I agreed! So on I read and googled and entered deeper into the internet.

I went to the Stand Up America website and read some of the pages, stopping on a page called “America – Finding its Next President”. They actually ask you to help them find the next president based on “Strict” qualifications. There are 7 qualifications (they say there could be more, but these are crucial Right now)

1. A strict Constitutionalist who stoically stands by our Constitution and its intentions

2. Cannot be a current politician holding office or attached to a political machine or special interest group (will be a few exceptions to this)

3. Must have extensive executive experience (a combination of military, national affairs and business)

4. Have strong values and traditions that reflect the American way (not the new progressive way)

5. Be a solid supporter of the private sector and Capitalism

6. Has in-depth experience in National Security and Foreign Affairs

7. Will reduce the size and power of our Federal Government and support States’ Rights

I thought number 1 was the only number needed! Number 2 is questionable and even the site says there are exceptions. Number 3, I do not agree with at all. Our Founders were not all military or businessmen and they did a fine job. 4 of them were lawyers before they went into public service and George Washington was a surveyor and a plantation owner as well as an officer in the Army (British) and Ben Franklin a writer, postmaster and inventor. Alexander Hamilton was an apprentice clerk and then joined the army, becoming aide to George Washington. So just having military and Business experience, does not a good president make? Where do you get experience in National affairs? I do agree with number 4. However, does number 4 reflect MY values? Number 5 I whole-heartedly agree with. Number 6, is kind of like number 3, you need to get this experience somewhere and National Security and Foreign affairs is not taught by business schools. Of Course Number 7 is that strict constitutionalism of Number 1, why add it if the first thing on the list is a strict constitutionalist?

The site asks you to send in your recommendation for the next president. This is fine, but as I am reading the list of names I come across “3 – Morgan Freeman – Actor, Independent Conservative, Former US Navy”. Reading this name really sent me into the depths of the internet as I have never considered Morgan Freeman to be a conservative. I could find nothing to verify this, but I did verify what I thought I knew. He has worked on narrations for One Earth; called “Why are We Here?” saying our role as humans is to protect all other species, because we are the only ones that can. He was a presenter at the 46664 concert celebrating Nelson Mandela’s birthday, among other things, and he endorsed BHO's campaign. Does this really sound like someone we want as our next president? Does this really sound like a person that should be on a list of Conservatives to be considered as our next president.

I am checking out the rest of this list and I see a name that I recognize but don’t know. This is Dick Devos, who ran for Governor of Michigan in 2006. This guy sounds pretty good, but as I was checking him out I can across an article by Curt Guyette is Metro Times news editor. The article was written in 2006, during the campaign for Governor and is titled “You don’t know Dick
The hard-right face candidate DeVos isn't showing voters”. This is a sit down interview with Russ Bellant, an extremely progressive liberal that wrote a book called “Old Nazis, the New Right, and the Republican Party: Domestic fascist networks and their effect on U.S. cold war politics by Russ Bellant” This ought to be some un-biased reporting!

How do we get our Country back? We have to learn to counter the notion that if you believe in God and are Saved, that you are somehow a brick short. These 2 men, the “reporter” and the “liberal” were both looking into how Dick DeVos spends his money. They assume that because this man is a Christian and gives money to Christian and Pro Life groups, he could not possibly be governor, because he could not separate Church and State. The article says, “But there's another side to Dick DeVos, the hard-right face of a social and economic conservative who, not all that long ago, would have been considered extreme even among Republicans. But his views have largely become part of the political mainstream”. … “This political shift is testament to the quiet efforts undertaken by the DeVoses and other extremely wealthy right-wingers for more than three decades. Using donations from private foundations they control, as well as personal contributions and money kicked in from their companies, these people have been funding conservative think tanks, activist groups and fundamentalist Christian organizations in an attempt to direct America's political mainstream further and further to the right.” Ghastly, isn’t it! Actually funding conservative values groups and fundamentalist Christian org to direct America? The article further states, “The agenda has been clear-cut: tax cuts that primarily benefit corporations and the wealthy, industry deregulation, school privatization, militarism, the promotion of so-called "traditional values" that cover everything from undermining the rights of gays to re-criminalizing abortion to breaking down the wall separating church from state, opposition to the environmental movement and organized labor and affirmative action, and cuts in funding to social services.” Can you believe someone would actually be FOR “So-called” traditional values?

This is where we can WIN America back! WE need to use the same tactics as the progressive left. Every time some author or writer uses Christianity as a negative we need to cry foul. Did you get the “these people”, as if we are the worst of the human race. We need to stand up and demand an apology, we need to cry that we are oppressed and mainstream media hates Christians. When they speak about abortions as a choice, we need to ask why they hate the human race, what has an unborn baby done to them, we need to call them racist against unborn babies. We need to learn how to be civilly disobedient to demand our Rights. We need to study this strategy and we need to become the ones who stand up and refuse to be called intolerant by those who are trying to end our very freedoms in this Country. We are becoming oppressed, by the intolerant left. We are being denied rights as American Citizens, while other groups are given more rights. If you are a Christian, you can’t say Merry Christmas, your children cannot say prayers in school, they cannot have Christmas parties, yet, they can learn all about cross dressers, homosexuals, how to experiment with “alternative” sex. They learn only when they “fit” into society and act like the rest of the world will they be okay. We are being PC’d out of existence!

WE must quit being a silent majority we must become vocal. We must root out and find all that want to destroy our way of life. Why is it, Planned Parenthood gets billions from our government to exist to kill our unborn babies? Why does our Government give billions to acorn to promote poverty and government solution? Why is the first thing a democrat talks about in election year is our “inner” schools, yet will not let anyone out of Government run schools.

CAN YOU NAME ONE THING OUR GOVERNMENT HAS MANAGED SUCCESSFULLY?

With Gods help and hard work we can solve all the problems that are besetting our Country and it is really easy and there is not another way. Very simply you need to get involved, you need to know who represents you and you need to make sure they know what your views are. You need to vote, you need to know who is the best choice for the job, YOU need to vet the candidates based on what you have taken the time to learn. You need to engage in campaigns and you need to have discussions so you can tell others what you know. You need to listen, to what others have learned and think. You need to think it all through. With sound representatives, that are willing to work hard, use the Constitution to repeal what can be repealed, uphold the Constitution and study the original intent of the writers, not judges, we can have our freedoms restored. WE need to demand that God is Good and deserves a place in our Country. That there is a difference between mandating a state church and recognizing God’s commandments.

You must always ask: Is this authorized in the Constitution? Where exactly in the Constitution? And precisely what is authorized by the Constitution?

Amendments to the Constitution?

Many conservatives and conservative groups are calling for Amendments to the Constitution. These Amendments are in respect to Term Limits and to balancing our Federal Budget.

My quick response is VOTE and What Budget!

I have thought about these amendments for a while now. I am amazed that anyone thinks amending the constitution will resolve these problems.

Amendment to install term limits on Congress. I understand the issue of politicians who are in office for their whole lives. Ted Kennedy, was first elected to the Senate in November 1962, he was re-elected nine times and served for 47 years until his death. Charlie Rangel has served since 1971; that is 39 years! John Murtha was in since 1974 or 35 years. Just these 3 examples, would or should be enough to say YES to amending the constitution. But America is a Republic with free elections, and the people of Massachusetts and New York and Pennsylvania obviously wanted to keep these 3 men as representatives. Why, I haven’t any Idea at all! I wouldn’t pick one of them to come within 100 miles of the Capitol of my Country! But if you did not want them in office your job was to find a candidate and support them and get them elected, not try to amend the constitution.

Is bad taste in elected officials, really a reason to support an amendment to get them out. On the other side of the coin are precious representatives like Michele Bachman and I am sure there might be others, would we amend the Great Constitution to limit her terms? I sure wouldn’t.

I have a problem with chocolate, I cannot stop eating it until it is gone, I love it, but if you don’t, would you amend the law to keep me from having it? Yes that is silly and irreverent, however so is amending the constitution, because you don’t like the way people vote! Wouldn’t it be wiser to teach people about issues and make sure that like-minded citizens are registered and go vote during elections. Wouldn’t this be a better way to ensure that qualified candidates make their way to Washington DC?

We, as Americans, say we love our freedom, but take very little time to make sure we keep it. It is our duty to find, support and vote for qualified candidates. Screaming at the TV at the ones we disdain is not fighting for Freedom it is a warning that you need to be more involved in our system.

Wouldn’t instead of amending our constitution, it be better to work on State legislation to get recall for bringing back and firing representatives that do not represent. This is where we send them to office, let us hold them accountable to represent us or be fired on the state level; by the people, and let’s not amend our constitution!

It is not easy to amend the constitution and many amendments never get ratified. In order to amend our constitution it takes one of these processes:

The Amendment Process (http://www.usconstitution.net/constam.html)

There are essentially two ways spelled out in the Constitution for how to propose an amendment. One has never been used.

The first method is for a bill to pass both houses of the legislature, by a two-thirds majority in each. Once the bill has passed both houses, it goes on to the states. This is the route taken by all current amendments. Because of some long outstanding amendments, such as the 27th, Congress will normally put a time limit (typically seven years) for the bill to be approved as an amendment (for example, see the 21st and 22nd).

The second method prescribed is for a Constitutional Convention to be called by two-thirds of the legislatures of the States, and for that Convention to propose one or more amendments. These amendments are then sent to the states to be approved by three-fourths of the legislatures or conventions. This route has never been taken, and there is discussion in political science circles about just how such a convention would be convened, and what kind of changes it would bring about.

Regardless of which of the two proposal routes is taken, the amendment must be ratified, or approved, by three-fourths of states. There are two ways to do this, too. The text of the amendment may specify whether the bill must be passed by the state legislatures or by a state convention. See the Ratification Convention Page for a discussion of the make up of a convention. Amendments are sent to the legislatures of the states by default. Only one amendment, the 21st, specified a convention. In any case, passage by the legislature or convention is by simple majority.

The Constitution, then, spells out four paths for an amendment:

Proposal by convention of states, ratification by state conventions (never used)
Proposal by convention of states, ratification by state legislatures (never used)
Proposal by Congress, ratification by state conventions (used once)
Proposal by Congress, ratification by state legislatures (used all other times)

The reason for the 7-year limit is that most amendments are never ratified by the number of states necessary. There are 6 failed amendments, one of which was only ratified by 10 states the last in 1796.

Then there are the proposed amendments, from 1989 through 1999 there were 856 amendments proposed (For more on this http://www.usconstitution.net/constamprop.html)

these are from the 109th Congress (2005-2006)

To ensure reproductive rights of women (abortion)
To force the Congress and President to agree to a balanced budget, with overspending allowed only in the case of a three-fifths vote of Congress
To ensure that all children who are citizens have a right to a "free and adequate education" (straight from the U.N.)
To specifically permit prayer at school meetings and ceremonies
To allow non-natural born citizens to become President if they have been a citizen for 20 years (Well BHO already did this and there was no amendment, get it?)
To specifically allow Congress to regulate the amount of personal funds a candidate to public office can expend in a campaign
To ensure that apportionment of Representatives be set by counting only citizens (DUH this is in the constitution already)
To make the filibuster in the Senate a part of the Constitution
To provide for continuity of government in case of a catastrophic event (another congress wanted to “appoint” other members bypassing the peoples right to suffrage)
The "Every Vote Counts" Amendment - providing for direct election of the President and Vice President, abolishing the Electoral College
To clarify eminent domain, specifically that no takings can be transferred to a private person except for transportation projects
Providing a right to work, for equal pay for equal work, the right to organize, and the right to favorable work conditions (Written by the SEIU???)
To allow the President to reduce any Congressional appropriation, or to disapprove of same (akin to a line-item veto) (only when my guy is in there, lol)

Amending the constitution can be a dangerous undertaking, much damage can be done especially with a progressive majority like we have now. What if that majority was increased by stealing elections? Can’t happen you say, just look at Minnesota’s election between Norm Coleman and Al Franken, who, was in charge of counting the votes? The Secretary of State of course, and there is a project underway to steal elections all over America. Another frequently mentioned amendment is Balancing our budget, well this would be a dream come true, but how would you do this? One way would be to raise everyone’s taxes by 50% or more. I don’t think I would like that. Then I see formulas out there, who knows what this one means? Would your Amendment say that you must use this formula? (I seriously found this formula by googling balanced budget)

The simplest model of income determination is (really this is the simplest???)
Y = C + I + G
C= a+ c*(Y-T), with I, G and T as constant.
SO, Y = a+ c*Y- C*T+I+G
or, (1-c)*Y = I + G - c*T,
or, Y= (I+G-c*T)/ (1-c)
Now consider G and T to increase by equal amounts of DB. Thus the equation shows that there will be an increase in Y by DY with I remaining constant.
Therefore, DY = (DB - cDB)/ (1-c)
or, the multiplier DY/DB = (1-c)/ (1-c) = 1
Thus the balanced budget multuiplier is always equal to one. IF both G and T are increased by equal amounts of DB, there will be an income expansion of DY.= DB
Y in Income, T is TAx, G is Governement expanditure, I is investment, a and c are constants. Meaning of c is marginal propensity to consume.
Notes:From a Keynesian point of view, a balanced budget in the public sector is achieved when the government has enough fiscal discipline to be able to equate the revenues with expenditure over the business cycles. In other words, a government's budget is balanced if its income is equal to its expenditure. This allows for a deficit in periods of low economic prospects that however needs to be matched by a surplus in periods of high economic activity.

Say what? No I don’t get it and I don’t want to, it is a crock, well maybe not to a math wiz, but to me. Would you use this in your home, if you do – STOP! Let me educate you; don’t spend more than you make. Wait there is more, decide what you need to spend every month to have shelter (including utilities), food and basic necessities (health insurance is a necessity), then figure out how much income you have, then pay your bills? To keep taxes low and to stop the spending, we only need to look to our constitution. No there is no article or section that spells out how to balance the budget, but there are enumerations that say what congress can and cannot do. I hate to tell you this, but all the junk laws they have passed for the last 100 years or more are unconstitutional. Let’s start by eliminating everything that the constitution does not provide for. These are just off the top of my head, in no special order and by no means complete. Lets get rid of czars, healthscare, welfare, social security, medicare, medicaide, illegal aliens (if we fined them and then deported, we could be ahead) ACORN subsidies, money for anything that is NOT within the bounds of congress. Forget all the “general welfare” clauses. Get rid of it all, then only collect taxes on what congress is allowed to do. It reads like this:

and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, To borrow money on the credit of the United States; to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; (fyi ~ general welfare does not have anything to do with a monthly check from the US Government-really it doesn’t)

To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;

To establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures; (P)

To provide for the punishment of counterfeiting the securities and current coin of the United States; (could the fed be charged with this?)

To establish post offices and post roads; (P)

To promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries; (this does not say give billions to the NEA)

To constitute tribunals inferior to the Supreme Court;

To define and punish piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the law of nations;

To declare war, grant letters of marquee and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;

To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years; (P)

To provide and maintain a navy; (P)

To make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces;

To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions; (P)

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in

the service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the

militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress; (P)

To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten miles square) as may, by cession of particular states, and the acceptance of Congress, become the seat of the government.

Seriously, I did not see one thing in here that gave congress the right to take tax money and redistribute it for equality. In fact, we would all enjoy the fruits of lower taxes and increased jobs and I didn’t name all that should be cut. My point is proven though, we don’t need an amendment to balance the budget we need a congress that is willing to do the job! Stop paying people to do nothing, stop paying for people’s homes, stop paying for Nancy Pelosi’s private airplane! She is rich enough to afford to travel on her own, if she doesn’t like it, she can quit!

My final and most valid reason for NOT amending our constitution is that our congress has overstepped and usurped boundaries and powers not granted, when specifically spelled out in our constitution. What will give them incentive to obey these 2 amendments? The way to solve this problem is to take our power back. Do not let them usurp powers, when they start to push a bill through such as healthscare or cap and trade our duty was to immediately impeach these usurpers! Stop listening to those who say we can’t and lets do it! We didn’t, there is no consequence anymore to making any law that congress wants. Instead of holding their feet to the fire we begged, sent letters telling them we will fire them, and held up signs and marched. Congress snubbed the people, called them all manner of irreverent names, and then did what they wanted. HOW do you think another amendment will stop this? Americans act like the Government rules over us and we need to go along with their power grubbing. Man up America,( I love this, I first heard Michelle Malkin say it at the first Smart Girl Politics Summit in 2009) learn the constitution, quit watching mainstream media, and learn what is happening on your own! You have responsibilities to this Country too!

We don’t need amendments, we need to enforce our powers over congress, and we need to have consequences. We need to make sure that all 3 branches know that the 4^th branch (We the People) is boots on the ground and we are the ones with complete power and control. We need to enforce our rules of recall and get it in states that do not have it. Say NO to Amendments, Stand up for what is Right and Constitutional.

Obamas Volunteer Army! The Bill has Passed, the Funding is in the Budget

Does this sound like one of those bills that congress does, you know, Recognizes and names buildings after themselves, stuff like that?? IT IS NOT! This is the Bill that will start Obamas Volunteer Army! You know the one that will be bigger and better armed than our Troops. This Bill passed with 280 yeas and 128 Nays. The Dems only needed 272 to win and with 43 Republicans voting for it - that cinched it for them!

Tennessees Vote was broken down this way - I will ask this question again, Does Zack Wamp even show up in Washington any more. We could have used more NAYS and it would be nice if these MIS-Respresentatives would try and at least convince other Republicans to Vote NO! Bart Gordon did not bother to show up either! Guess he got a pass since they had the votes.

The Budget would also increase the amount of the Eli Segal Education Award, which has not been adjusted since the program’s inception in 1993.

Innovators often come up with great ideas for addressing critical national challenges, but too often lack the capital to develop, evaluate, and scale up successful ideas. The Great Flood of 2010

The tragedy of this FLOOD is still not completely known. The Death Toll from Tennessee is now at 16 and the news says it will be higher; when the flood waters recede.

The Damage to Nashville and surrounding areas is devastating to our historical downtown. The Grand Ole Opry, The Opryland Hotel, the Farmers Market.

The Clean up is beginning, the people are just now able to take stock of just what is gone or ruined. They are in shelters, and they are in shock. When they do get to go home, they are in for weeks of clean-up and repairs. They will have to deal with insurance agents and putting a price on priceless items. The Cumberland River and the Duck River are still 3 feet above Flood level. My Thoughts and Prayers To Nashville and it's people.

Downsizing the Federal Governement ~ A Look at How Far We Have Come

As you can see Non-Defense spending took a huge spike and has been on an upward climb since the 1960's. You can see the defense spending spiked during the Vietnam war, and except for a small rise during the Reagan administration has mostly fallen, even though we have heroes in harms way. The true amount may not be known, as many other budgets assume some defense spending.

This really doesn't need much explaining, it pretty much says it all - Can you say entitlements?

Subsidies can be used for everything from getting Farmers NOT to grow crops to energy subsidies for nuclear and coal, but it also would include tax incentives for having babies to buying a home. *

Except for Defense and Interest - We could shave a lot off of this Pie!

Please Note this is in TRILLIONS of Dollars and the Date Range is only 10 years. I would say Big Government is eating us alive.

We need to address this and soon. The Healthcare Bill alone will increase the size of Government to 159 new agencies and commissions just to oversee this monster.

ARIZONA IS NOT WRONG!

Our President, the Main Street Media, even some hosts on FOX NEWS are trying to make the bill that passed in Arizona all about Race. What Arizona did was pass a law that mimics what the United States Government is supposed to do about illegal aliens in our country.

I was raised in Arizona and I can tell you about the Mexicans that lived there when I was growing up. Yes, they were called Mexicans, we did not call them latinos or hispanic, and they did not use these descriptions for themselves either. My best friends had surnames of Hernandez, Benavidez, and Alvarez. I would go to my best friend’s house before school every morning so we could walk to the Junior High together. Her mom always had a pan of chorizo and eggs and tortillas ready for breakfast. Everyone in my friends home (her name was Yvonne) spoke english without an accent, except the slight spanish accent we all had when saying spanish names. I was raised in Tucson so everything had a spanish name. Except for Yvonne’s Grandmother, she only spoke Spanish and she was so neat, she had actually taken her own tonsils out with a sharpened spoon! I thought that was the neatest story in the world. Yvonne’s Father worked in the copper mines, same as my dad when there wasn't work as an Ironworker.

My point is there have always been Mexicans by birth, Americans by choice living in Arizona, however, the Federal Government when it granted amnesty to the illegal aliens that have been coming to Arizona and all over America were supposed to secure our borders, and they were supposed to enforce our laws on immigration. It says so right in the documents description. The Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), also Simpson-Mazzoli Act (Pub.L. 99-603, 100 Stat. 3359, signed by President Ronald Reagan on November 6, 1986. Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) Public Law 99-603 (Act of 11/6/86), which was passed in order to control and deter illegal immigration to the United States. Its major provisions stipulate legalization of undocumented aliens who had been continuously unlawfully present since 1982, legalization of certain agricultural workers, sanctions for employers who knowingly hire undocumented workers, and increased enforcement at U.S. borders. The Act also granted a path towards legalization to certain agricultural seasonal workers and immigrants who had been continuously and illegally present in the United States since January 1, 1982. Sure it was!

Our tax dollars immediately went to providing resources to every state to give each of these “illegal but now on a path to citizenship” every entitlement we had. We gave these illegal aliens Welfare, housing food stamps and paid for Schooling, we put the burden of proof on employers and we gave illegal aliens the right to sue employers if they discriminated against them. (SEC. 117. RESTRICTIONS ON ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS)

The States (including Arizona) were then responsible to turn over anyone who was not under special consideration to be granted amnesty to the Justice Department whose sole purpose it seems was to make sure the illegal alien was not discriminated against. "(1) IN GENERAL. -- Beginning one year after the date of enactment of this Act, and at intervals of one year thereafter for a period of three years after such date, the Comptroller General of the United States shall prepare and transmit to the Congress and to the taskforce established under subsection (k) a report describing the results of a review of the implementation and enforcement of this section during the preceding twelve-month period, for the purpose of determining if --)”

This law was a sham and I remember the fight against it back then, Ronald Reagan was not liked very much during this amnesty bill. Arizona has a right to take matters in their own hands when the Federal Government doesn’t enforce immigration laws. It is time to tell this administration and Lindsey Gramnesty that this didn’t work and we will not tolerate another welfare bill for the citizens of MEXICO or illegal aliens from anywhere else in the world. This is not about hate; it is about our ability to keep our nation sovereign and about paying our tax dollars for the lawbreakers who come here for the housing, medical, food stamps and education provided by our very generous congress! We are broke and this administration needs to get a grip and stop spending our money!

I was invited to speak recently at the regular meeting of SURG (Sumner United for Responsible Government). Also on the agenda that night was Tami Kilmarx and Candidate Dave Evans, running for Congress in Tennessee's 6th District. My talk was on something near and dear to my Heart!

Smart Girl Politics, Our mission is to Engage, Empower and Educate women and men in the political process.

By engaging in the political debates, sharing information, and informing each other, we keep a focal point on what and where we need to focus our attention. We fought long and hard to stop the health scare bill. We had war rooms with information on the representatives, the blue dogs. We provided information on events from countering acorn/seiu pro healthcare rallies to the Can you Hear us now and other Rallies. We provided links to websites for information and we provided the facts on misinformation.

By empowering Girls and Guys in the political process, we give them the necessary tools to become activists. We have twitter groups, facebook groups, and blogger groups. We hope we provide the material for the voice that is waiting to get out and get started on doing something. So many have emailed me, I want to do something, but I don’t know how. I don’t know what to do. I usually will get them started with the 5-minute daily activism. Write an email on Monday, taking 5 minutes then send it to one senator on Tuesday and one on Wednesday, call one representative on Thursday. Leave a message on the White House message line on Fridays and on Saturday and Sunday, send, or prepare faxes for the coming week. Get on Twitter and let all your followers know about a bill or a vote that is happening. Be empowered, you CAN make a difference!

We don’t just want to tell Smart Girls and Guys what to do, or have everyone join in letter writing campaigns, part of being empowered is being educated. Smart Girl Politics has SMART GIRL 101, where we do classes on the political process. We have every level of political experience from the very newly awakened, that have never been involved at all to those that have decided the way they want to make a difference is to challenge the office. We have held classes on Voters Registration, Get Out The Vote, Identifying Voters Fraud, How to support a candidate to running a campaign, and how to make your own Run for office!

What we also do is give conservatives a place to meet; even virtually, in a place where there are others that share their passion, their values, and their politics, gather. We don’t all talk, vote and believe in the exact same thing. We are all individuals and come from all back grounds and lifestyles. We are young, and old and live all over the world. Did you know that Smart Girl Politics has members from all over the world? We come together to Share our fears, our passions and our lives and Our love of our Country.

Joining Smart Girl Politics is easy as getting on our website and signing up, we have a Tennessee State Group, where we hope to get real good at keeping an eye on our local governments. Everything from the School board to the Governors office. We are working towards having each district watched by members and reports made to district coordinators, so we can post meetings, we can let all members know what votes are coming up, what passage will mean to the district. We want to be able to inform our members and get them involved at the local level, IF we can stop progressive agendas at the school board and local municipal level, then our State and even Federal Government will not be able to pass legislation that goes against the grain of conservatives and is detrimental to our freedoms. WE hope that if a district is having a problem with an upcoming vote, we have a ready made large number of phone calls and letters to help out.

We also have many issue and interest groups. These groups represent everything from Supporting Israel to the 2^nd amendment, we have activism groups for Bloggers, and Tea Parties. We have conservative personality groups for Rush, Glenn Beck, Tammy Bruce, Ann Coulter. We have interest groups - everything from a motorcycle group to a Business coalition. We have Issues groups and politician Groups, we even have a new group that is just for fun. It is designed to take a bit of time and have a laugh, a quick time out from the harshness of politics.

We hope to never wake up to the reality of 2008 again. We hope to empower the next generation of Smart Girls and Smart Guys to carry on what we have started; To become the watchers and to ALWAYS question their Government. We hope to give every concerned Smart Girl and Smart Guy the tools and knowledge to use them to finish the fight. And to Educate and To pass on to the next generation along with the Story of what we have witnessed and fought for, the Second American Revolution. How we Almost, but not quite lost our Freedoms and our Republic!

Tea Parties and Freedom Fairs

This last week has been a busy one, and that is saying it mildly. The Tennessee Smart Girls hosted 2 booths; one on Thursday at the SURG event in Hendersonville, TN. It was a great event, with terrific entertainment, like John Rich! There were several Candidates vying for the 6th district congressional seat, being thankfully open after the retirement of Bart Gordon. The organizers that put on this event in Hendersonville did a great job, it was well organized and very well attended.

Then on Friday Night We hosted a Table at the Freedom Fair in Murfreesboro, TN. This event was also very well organized, had great entertainment lots of people and was great fun! KUDOS to the Organizers of both events! This is a lot of work, to make everything happen and coordinate the event and it does not happen by itself. This is the tireless work of Freedom Fighting Patriots!

I put over 400 miles on my van going to these events and home, it was late evenings both days and early mornings. Lots of lugging boxes, canopies, tables. chairs and supplies, but when you meet the most wonderful people it is worth everything to show your support.
